1.
The
meeting opened with worship led by Rev. Pam Reidpath. A dramatic
monologue of the Samaritan woman at the well was presented.
2. Finance and Property
presented a motion, which was passed, giving consent to sell the Murray
Harbour church.
3. Pastoral Relations
presented two motions to concur with a change in pastoral relations for
Wallie Ellis and Rev. Beth Brehaut. Both motions were passed.
4. Church in Action
highlighted the upcoming Agricultural Awareness Event to be held on
November 1 in Central Queens United Church. The goal of this
event, for all Presbyters, is to create awareness of the
agricultural situation on the Island.
5. A Review Committee
was formed to review the structure of Presbytery and the handbook of
Presbytery.
6. The nominations for
Chair-elect were tabled until the November meeting.
7. The Treasurer
reported that 65 to 70% of the allocations have been received to
date. She is working on the budget now.
8. The next meeting will
be on November 27, 2008 in South Shore United Church.
