Notes on the November 24, 2011 meeting of Presbytery.

Prince Edward Island Presbytery met on the evening of November 22, 2011, at Kensington United Church.
Some highlights follow:

1.    A warm welcome was extended to the Rev. Jane Johnson, President of Maritime Conference, and David Hewitt, D.M., Executive Secretary of Maritime Conference, who were in attendance.

2.   
Consent was given to Kings United Pastoral Charge to list for sale the Annandale and St. James (Souris) church buildings.

3.   
The 2012 budget of $122, 385.00 was passed.

4.    A change in pastoral relations for the Rev. Janet Travers (Mt. Stewart-Morell-St. Peter's Bay Pastoral Charge) was approved, effective November 24, 2011.  The Rev. Travers will be retained on the roll of Presbytery.

5.   
The Stewardship Committee reported that in early January a memo will go out to pastoral charges with an offer to order resources for charges.  The committee is willing to work with any pastoral charge on a stewardship program.

6.   
A motion was passed giving permission for the Pleasant Grove congregation to disband, effective December 31, 2011.

7.    The Christian Life and Growth Committee reported there will be changes to the registration process for Intermediates at Conference and Youth Forum for 2012.  The committee has applications for General Council Youth Forum in Ottawa in 2012.  Contact the committee for more information.

8.
    After the business meeting concluded, a worship was held, led by Jane Johnson and David Hewitt.  Every pastoral charge in the Presbytery was remembered in the service.

9.    The next meeting of Presbytery will be on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at York United Church.
