Notes on the February 26, 2009 meeting of Presbytery.

Prince Edward Island Presbytery met on the evening of June 18, 2009, at Trinity United Church, Summerside.
Some highlights follow:

1.    Prior to the meeting, a most delicious ham or lobster supper was served.  Both the food and the service were excellent.

2.   
The new Executive was introduced.  The Executive consists of the Chairperson, the past-Chairperson, the Secretary, the two minute secretaries, and the Chairpersons of the Pastoral Relations, Pastoral Oversight, Education and Students, Finance and Property, and Stewardship committees.

3.    Retiring Presbytery delegates were thanked and new delegates were welcomed.

4.    The Stanley Bridge church building was declared surplus.  A request for consent to sell the building will be sent to Maritime Conference.

5.   
The Rev. Ches Boutilier’s appointment for weekend supply to Bedeque North Pastoral Charge was extended to July 26, 2009.

6.  
Gerald Blacquiere will be serving the Wellington Pastoral Charge on a part-time basis from August 9, 2009 to June 30, 2012.  The Rev. Sheila Mallory will be serving St. David’s Georgetown Pastoral Charge on a part-time basis from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2012.

7.   
Following the meeting, a worship and installation service was held in the sanctuary of Trinity United.  The Rev. Dr. Arthur Davies was installed as the new Chairperson of Presbytery.  Rev. Davies spoke of his vision for Presbytery.

8.   
The next meeting will be on September 24, 2009, at Camp Abegweit.
