1.
The
meeting opened with worship on the theme of “Balance in our Lives”.
2. A motion was
presented that Presbytery congratulate Heather Moyse.
3. Carolyn Francis told
us that the Camp Abegweit registration will soon be on-line. Bob
Lockhart is the new interim Chairperson of the Camp Abegweit Board and
Jean Ward will become the Chairperson.
4.
Bob
Lockhart provided background information on Remit No. 3, “Transfer and
Settlement to be Optional”. The remit was discussed in table
groups. A motion was passed that Presbytery agree with the remit.
5. A motion was carried
that the Presbytery meeting in November be a full-day meeting.
Information about the primary industries on the Island will be on the
agenda.
6. Scott Hillier will
have a change in pastoral relations, effective April 7, 2010.
7. Bill Hayward gave a
Transition Committee Report from Spring Park United. He spoke
about the interim ministry at Spring Park United and how the process is
unfolding.
8. Nigel Weaver read the
names of delegates for Intermediates at Conference and Youth
Forum. A motion was presented to provide $50 to each delegate.
9.
Kensington United will be doing renovations to the church property as a
result of an energy audit. Kensington United also asked for
consent to list their manse for sale.
10.
Kings
United is in the process of amalgamation and is getting assistance from
the Finance and Property Committee.
11.
Carol
Pippy presented the United Church Women Presbyterial report.
12.
Sheri
Chislett reported she had sent the Presbytery allocation of $77,048 to
Maritime Conference.
13.
Betty
Gamester will be the new treasurer of Presbytery after the rise of
Conference.
14.
The names
of the delegates to the Maritime Conference Annual Meeting were read.
15.
The next
Presbytery meeting will be held in Trinity United Church, Summerside,
on April 22, 2010.
