The meeting opened with a worship of word, music, and prayer.

Gloria Churchill spoke about the theme for this year’s Maritime
Conference Annual Meeting, which is “Living Faithfully in the Midst of
Empire, A Call to Community”. General Council has resources
available so we can learn more about this issue.
3.
Carolyn Francis reported that the official opening of Camp Abegweit’s
new lodge will be on June 22. Camp registration forms are
available on the Presbytery web site. An all-ages camp, “Earth -
Our Home”, will be held in June.
4.
Shirley Affleck (Christian Life and Growth) read the names of the
people who have applied to Intermediates at Conference and Youth
Forum. A motion was passed to give each candidate $50.00.

Wally Ellis (Education and Students) reported that a number of
discernment committees have been active. He highlighted the issue
of isolation for students - local congregations need to keep in contact
with the students.
6.
Carol Pippy presented the annual report of the United Church Women and
Ed Pearson submitted the annual report of the United Church Men.
7. A
motion was passed approving the 2008 budget.
8. A
motion was passed to forward, with concurrence, to Maritime Conference
Executive, a proposal titled General Council Process.
9. Two
motions were passed to forward two proposals, with concurrence, to
Maritime Conference; one concerning a commitment to rural
congregations, the other a rural ministry committee.
10. Delegates were reminded that they will be
voting on six remits at the April Presbytery meeting. Delegates
are encouraged to study these remits prior to the meeting.
11. The next
meeting will be in Trinity United, Summerside, on April 24, 2008 at
7:00 p.m. The committees will meet at 6:00 p.m.
